Mourinho: "Benzema's goal is from out of this world"

"It wasn't an easy game and I like to see that all my men respond"
Alberto Navarro (Pamplona) / Translation by Michael J. O'Donnell

Jose Mourinho analysed the team's 5-1 victory over Osasuna in the press conference following the encounter.
"I like to see that all my men respond. It wasn't an easy game and both Granero and Albiol, who hadn't played for a long time, responded very well. This shows the strength of the group and of each individual player. We're all very happy with their performance, just like we were with Sahin's in Cyprus. It always makes us very happy to see men who don't usually play doing this well. As their coach, I wish to thank them for their performances."

"You never know what the score will be like. Benzema netted a goal that is out of this world in the first chance we got and Cristiano scored from a fantastic shot in our second chance. We did two things very well tonight: we adapted to Osasuna's style and we didn't lose our identity in attack. We did well overall and we reacted after Osasuna gained some strength with their goal."

"We hardly had any chances to score here last year, but Osasuna attacked more after we had a 3-0 advantage, leaving spaces for us to attack in. We therefore had many chances from counterattacks. It isn't normal to have so many chances here because games at this stadium are very even."

"Khedira is different and brings different qualities to the team. I chose Nuri in Cyprus and today I chose Granero. I try to use the best possible combinations regarding each player and match. I knew what to expect and decided to use Granero. It proved right and I am especially happy for Granero and Albiol. They gave a fantastic performance."

Xabi Alonso: "Every point is vital because we depend on ourselves"

"We knew how to play against Osasuna and showcased maturity at a difficult venue"
Alberto Navarro (Pamplona) / Translation by Michael J. O'Donnell

Xabi Alonso analysed the match in Pamplona for the media.
"We gave a good performance because we worked hard for it, and we also scored great goals. We were aware of Osasuna's characteristics and it was a shame we conceded a strike so early in the first half. We knew how to play against them and showcased maturity at a difficult venue."

"We know every remaining match will be complicated. Every point is vital because we depend on ourselves. There are many still at stake, but we must keep up the good work."

Granero: "We gave a very serious performance and proved we're in good form"

We earned a very important victory at a complicated stadium, taking three points now that there's one less game left in the championship"
Alberto Navarro (Pamplona) / Translation by Michael J. O'Donnell

Esteban Granero was a starter and his performance was praised by Jose Mourinho after the match against Osasuna.
"This is a very important victory. We took three points with one less game left in the championship. We gave a very solid and serious performance and we proved to be in good form."

"Every match is decisive and we earned an important win at a complicated stadium. That's important. We were aware of how difficult it would be and of the fact we depend on ourselves. We dropped points here last season, but we knew what was at stake tonight and took another step towards achieving our objective."

"Our strikers play very well and score incredible goals that are a guarantee for the team. We all do well on this squad and we must all be ready when we're needed. Albiol gave a magnificent performance after missing many games."

"We want to make a good impression at our stadium against APOEL. We may have a good result on aggregate, but we cannot believe we're through to the next round just yet."

Cristiano Ronaldo: "The whole squad is in spectacular form and we're scoring many goals"

"My 37 goals are not on my mind because I only think about winning; we're leaders and we have to stay at the top"
Alberto Navarro (Pamplona) / Translation by Michael J. O'Donnell

Cristiano Ronaldo tallied two strikes against Osasuna and shared his views on the match in the mixed zone.
"It was a very complicated match against a difficult opponent, but we're in good form and won. We're very happy because the team won. It is complicated to score five goals at this stadium and what happened here last year is behind us now."
"We've earned another victory and there's one less game in the season. We know we must keep up the good work and focus on one game at a time."

"I'm very happy. Things are turning out well, the team is confident and we're giving good performances. The entire squad is in spectacular form and everyone wants to play. We're scoring many goals. Those who don't usually play give fantastic performances. We three strikers are scoring many goals. Kaka and Ozil are also in top form... Everything is great."
"My 37 goals are not on my mind because I only think about winning; we're leaders and we have to stay at the top."

"The misunderstanding with Higuain happened because we both wanted to score and after overtaking the goalkeeper we were both going to shoot. No biggy; it was just another effort."

Albiol: "Cristiano, Benzema and Higuain net every shot; their five goals tonight were amazing"

"I was very happy about being a starter again"
Alberto Navarro (Pamplona) / Translation by Michael J. O'Donnell

Raul Albiol was a starter against Osasuna and received praise from the coach and his teammates after the match.
"I was very happy about being a starter again. My teammates helped me a lot and the whole team should be congratulated for the match."

"We must continue to work this way because we're having a very good season. We knew the match against Osasuna would be one of our harder tests. We're very happy."

"The team was strong from the get go. We scored early in the game, which helped. Cristiano's strike was important to take the lead. Cristiano, Benzema and Higuain net every shot and their five goals tonight were spectacular. It has even greater merit to do so at such a difficult stadium against a team that plays well and pressuruses hard."

"I'm grateful for the coach's praise, but the team is what matters. We gave a serious performance and should all be congratulated."

Higuain: "I'm proud to score 101 goals for such a club"

"There are eight games left and we're calm to win the title we all want"
Alberto Navarro (Pamplona) / Translation by Michael J. O'Donnell

Gonzalo Higuain scored a brace in the 5-1 victory over Osasuna. The striker talked to the media in the mixed zone after the match.
"The coach had faith in me again and I managed to respond. I'm happy for the victory and with tallying 101 goals for this club. It makes me proud and incredibly happy."

"We have a great lead in the championship and we must keep up the good work till the end of the season. There are eight games left and we're calm to win the title we all want."

"We knew the match would be difficult and, luckily, we overcame that. I nearly scored a third strike: I dribbled past the keeper and was going to shoot, but I failed to notice Cristiano comimg up behind me. It was just one of those things that sometimes happen in football and we shouldn't think abpout it any more."

"We're all in good form and we try to do our best on the pitch. We are very happy with our performance and I would especially like to mention Albiol, who did great tonight."
