The Whites top the league table and made it to the Last 16 in the Copa del Rey and the Champions League, having the best run in the history of the latter competition's group stage
Real Madrid seal 2011 at the top of their game, being sole leaders in La Liga and having made it to the Last 16 in the Copa del Rey and the Champions League - they've had the best run in the history of the latter championship's group stage. The Whites equalled their best run of consecutive victories this season (15) and won their first two games in the Copa for the first time in five years. The last time the team topped the league table and had reached the Last 16 in both the Copa and the UCL before the Christmas break was in the 2007/08 season, in which they ended up winning the league title.
Real Madrid have a three-point cushion over the runners-up in the league. They are the top scoring side in the championship with 56 strikes, breaking their 50-goal record in the first half of the season, established in the 1958/59 campaign.
