Real Madrid's 3-0 win over APOEL Nicosia allows them to be the first to reach this impressive figure in the 57 year history of the championship

Real Madrid have needed 344 games to earn 200 victories in the European Cup. No other team is close to doing this and no other club has been in as many finals and has won as many European Cup titles as the Whites.
Real Madrid won their first European Cup match on 8 September 1955 against Servette (2-0). They won the title months later by defeating Stade Reims 4-3 in the final.
The Whites were the first to win the championship and did so in its first five editions. They've won the title nine times and currently have 199 victories in the competition, followed in the ranking by Bayern Munchen (141), Barcelona (133), Manchester United (132) and AC Milan (119).
EUROPEAN CUP VICTORIES | ||
Club | Victories | Games played |
Real Madrid | 200 | 344 |
Bayern Munchen | 141 | 257 |
Barcelona | 133 | 229 |
Manchester United | 132 | 235 |
AC Milan | 119 | 229 |
Some of the most memorable of all of Real Madrid's victories in the championship are the 5-1 victory in the Last 16 over Derby County on 5 November 1975, with which they came back from the first leg's 4-1 defeat, and the return leg of the 2001/02 quarterfinals against Bayern Munchen, in which Real won 2-0 at the Bernabeu after losing 2-1 in Germany.
